A 35-year-old woman from Oshkosh, Wisconsin, entered into a plea agreement earlier this year to resolve sexual assault charges that had been filed against her in Wisconsin. The woman has now been sentenced for the sex crime convictions. Authorities had accused the woman of numerous sexual encounters with teenagers. The woman was facing more than 80 years in prison on the sexual assault charges.
The woman entered a plea deal in April and had pled guilty to repeated sexual assault of a child and sexual intercourse with a child. She reportedly had admitted to having sex with three teenagers, ranging from 14 to 16-years of age. The woman says that she had sex with the young men because she feared that the teens would stop being friends with her teenage daughter.
At the sentencing hearing, the woman apologized for her actions. The alleged victims apparently did not appear at the sentencing hearing, nor did they provide any statements to be heard at sentencing. The woman reportedly stated, "I wanted to apologize to the victims and their families, because I never meant to hurt anybody or cause anything like this."
The judge sentenced the woman to 21 months in prison, and 12 years of probation on the sex crime convictions. She will be required to register as a sex offender. The terms of her probation will also reportedly require her to complete any court ordered treatment programs.
