Our last post was about a man who was arrested after he posted messages soliciting fathers who would grant him sexual access to their children. Unfortunately, as technology continues to evolve, people continually find new ways to engage with minors.

In the past, sexual perpetrators in St. Paul needed to actually prowl the streets and make physical contact with children in order to engage in sexual activity. Now, people can be arrested for soliciting sex with minors after doing little more than clicking a computer mouse and typing a few sentences into a chat room box.

Because he did that, one man is facing felony charges for online sexual solicitation of a female child.

An undercover officer logged into a site where officers believed "K-Lee" had been soliciting sex with minors. In the chat room, the officer posed as a 12-year-old girl. K-Lee said he wanted to meet the girl, and he described the sexual acts that he wanted to perform on her. The two arranged a place to meet, and K-Lee said he would be driving a white van.

When K-Lee arrived at the meeting location, investigators approached his van and introduced themselves. Fearing arrest, K-Lee immediately drove away. The officers followed him and eventually stopped his car using spike strips.

K-Lee was arrested and taken into custody. Officers charged him with using electronic means to entice or allure a minor to conduct a sexual act, and with attempt to elude police -- both of which are felony charges.

K-Lee was jailed without bond.
